I've been very intentional about getting outside every day the last few weeks. Fall is fleeting and I don't want to miss the explosion of color we have here in Michigan. My walks often take me past a small wooded neighborhood park that's filled with memories for both me and my kids. While I don't have little ones walking by my side these days, I still have the same awe and wonder. Just today I collected an overflowing fistful of color and texture while on a windy walk through the woods - fallen leaves, dried flower heads, purple weeds in bloom, berries, weather worn bark, and even a fallen piece of a wasp nest that surprised me with it's beauty. I can almost guarantee that these treasures will eventually make their way into my paintings. They've already made their way into my heart.
